Heading into last month's Rivals Quarterback Challenge Presented by Under Armour stop in the Atlanta area, Class of 2017 Loganville (Ga.) Grayson quarterback Chase Brice was already receiving plenty of recruiting interest. But it wasn't until after he walked away with MVP honors at the event that added his first offer.

"I was in weight training and my coach got a call from Colorado State and he said they wanted to talk to me," Brice, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound rising junior, said. "It was [Rams assistant coach] Ronnie Letson and he let me know that they had been tracking me since they were at Georgia and had been watching my film and studying me, and they wanted to let me know I had an offer. I was pretty excited after that but also humbled and thankful."
The Colorado State staff has been hitting the Atlanta area hard, especially after Georgia native and former Bulldogs offensive coordinator Mike Bobo left Athens to take the head job in Fort Collins. Brice said he didn't even realize he was still on Bobo's radar until he got the call.
"I threw at the Georgia camp last year and got talk to Coach Bobo a little bit and then I didn't really have much contact with them since so it was kind of a random," Brice said. "But it was a good random, a good surprise. I'm glad it wasn't on April Fools' because I might not have believed it."
Since winning MVP honors Brice said he's seen an uptick in contact from schools and recently added an offer from Louisville.
"I'm excited about the offer from Louisville, too," Brice said. "It means other schools are noticing but specifically this offer from Louisville is pretty special and it means a lot. I've always had an eye on Louisville. I think it's a neat place and thankful for the opportunity."
"I've got a few more letters from colleges and a lot more contact on social media," Brice said. "Coaches have been following me on Twitter and we've been talking that way."
One of the first schools to reach out to Brice was North Carolina.
"I got a direct message from Coach (Keith) Heckendorf at North Carolina and he invited me up for a visit," Brice said. "I've talked to Clemson; they want me to go to their one-day camp and throw. A lot of schools like that."
Brice is currently juggling his football duties and duties as a third baseman on his school's baseball team, but he's hoping to audition for several schools this spring.
"I don't have any visit set up right now," Brice said. "We start spring practice soon but I'm in baseball right now. If we go far in the playoffs I could miss spring practice but hopefully I'll get a chance throw for coaches."
