Harrington is currently weighing scholarship offers in football from some of the nation’s finest universities. “I have offers from Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas, Arizona State, Purdue, Northwestern, Kansas, Nebraska, Michigan, Iowa, Iowa State, and Notre Dame,” Harrington said. I’m also hearing from some of the same schools and others for basketball.''
The standout athlete from Mexico, Missouri was an All-State defensive back in the state of Missouri in 2000. He was an All-State basketball honoree as both a sophomore and a junior. “I averaged 17.9 points per game, 8.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 2.3 steals as a junior,” Harrington said. “I’d like to play both sports in college, but I don’t know if I can. I also want to be a pediatrician. Two sports and Pre-Med could make for a pretty demanding schedule.”
Harrington is keeping an open mind to the recruiting process and said that he plans to visit 7 to 10 schools before making a decision on a destination. “Notre Dame, Michigan, Purdue, Nebraska, Missouri, and Arizona State are some of the schools that I would like to look at,” Harrington said.
When asked what position he felt most comfortable playing, Harrington said, “I don’t know. I like offense and defense both. It will be hard to decide.”
Does any school have the edge in his recruitment at this point in time? “No,” Harrington said. “I’m open minded and will likely not make a decision until February.”
