Skinny: Looking for one of the more versatile players in the Midwest for the Class of 2004? Look no further than Leola (Pa.) Conestoga Valley athlete Jordan Steffy.
Steffy, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound quarterback/athlete, can do it all and is a good enough athlete first and foremost that some schools like him as a quarterback and a receiver prospect in college.
“We run a spread offense,” Steffy said. “So I have a lot of passing yards, but I want to play either quarterback or receiver in college.”
And teams are already lining up to give him a shot at that. With several offers on the table already, Steffy is planning on taking a few unofficial visits this spring and hitting a few summer camps.
“My coach is in the process of planning those,” he said.
But if it’s any indication, Steffy said he grew up watching USC, Maryland, Miami and Purdue and he’s getting recruited early on by the Terps and Boilermakers.
When it comes time to make a decision, Steffy said a few things will be important to him.
“The coaching staff is the most important,” he said. “I want to have a good feel about them. Also, location will be key to me and the academics, too.”
