ATH Shaw visits Iowa

Piscataway, N.J. athlete Tevin Shaw took his first official visit this past weekend. It may be the only one the 5-foot-11, 190-pounder takes as he prepares to make a decision on Signing Day.
"It was good, everything was fine," Shaw said of his visit to Iowa. "I met the coaching staff and got to see the players and city for the first time. I liked it."

What'd he do?
"I just took tours of the facilities and met with my position coach," he said. "I met with the business department since I plan on majoring in business. I also met with my student host and went around with him for awhile."
Shaw was hosted on the visit by Quinton Alston.
Meanwhile, for Shaw the trip was completely different.
"It didn't seem like how I expected it," he said. "I thought it was going to be farms and cornfields, but the city part, it's a college town in Iowa City and I didn't expect that."
Shaw got a bit of time with the coaches too.
"It was good with them," he said. "They all seemed good and down to earth. I liked that. They also talked about me being a running back and I liked what I saw in that."
Overall it was a good trip.
"It was very good," he said. "I just needed to see the school before I made my decision, now I'm going to wait until Signing Day."
Shaw claims he's down to four schools, Massachusetts, Penn State, Maryland and Iowa.
"I'm pretty much waiting, but I'm deciding if I want to go to UMass next weekend, I'm up in the air on that."
So, why those four schools?
"It's just cause that's what I narrowed it down to after the whole recruiting process," he said. "It seems like those are the best fit for me and I have the best bond with the players and coaches."
