ATH Kanuch favors Maryland

Athlete Brad Kanuch does just about everything on the football field. He plays several positions and is one of the most versatile prospects in the Keystone State.
The 6-foot-0, 171-pound junior from Johnstown (Pa.) Westmont Hilltop runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds and lines up at running back, wide receiver, safety and cornerback.

"My quickness and explosiveness are my two strongest areas," said Kanuch. "I run good routes and I get off the ball well at the snap. I do need to work on my vertical a little bit, because there are going to be bigger players at receiver, which is where I'm being recruited mostly. And I'm always trying to improve my hands."
The nephew of Penn State's defensive coordinator, Kanuch is being recruited by PSU, North Carolina, Maryland, Michigan State, Nebraska, Duke, Boston College and others.
"I'd say Maryland is my favorite at this point, just because they're recruiting me the hardest and I'm impressed with them. They want to see more film of me catching the ball so I'll get them some of that. They've said they're close to offering."
Kanuch earned first team all-area honors as a junior. He had 170 carries for 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns at running back, 14 catches for 225 yards and five scores as a receiver, and 55 tackles with five interceptions as a defensive back.
