Maybe no prospect in the state of Arizona has seen his recruitment take off this season like 2019 athlete Jake Smith and rightfully so since he’s been playing so well.

Through eight games, the Scottsdale (Ariz.) Notre Dame Prep standout has rushed for 761 yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging more than 10 yards per carry.

What’s even more impressive is that Smith has also totaled 19 catches for 644 yards and eight more scores going for nearly 34 yards each reception.

Many top programs have taken notice and Smith was at Arizona State this past weekend for the Sun Devils’ big upset over Washington.

“The ASU visit was great,” Smith said.

“I really liked the environment and it was a very exciting atmosphere. The upset was a huge win for the program and it was great to see. ASU is recruiting me through Twitter a lot, I've been talking to many coaches. If I want to stay home it would be an awesome place for me.”

That is far from being decided.

So far, the 2019 prospect has landed offers from Arizona State, Cal, Duke, Illinois, Nevada, Penn State, Syracuse, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Washington State and Wisconsin.

For Smith, new offers have been seemingly coming all the time so there’s no telling where his recruitment could be headed next. The Scottsdale Notre Dame Prep standout said Utah, Northwestern and Arizona have been showing the most new interest.
