ATH Green claims first scholie

West Mifflin, Pa. athlete Leon Green has received his first scholarship. The 5-foot-10, 194-pounder picked up the verbal offer recently from the Panthers. What does Green think of the Pittsburgh scholarship?
"I do have an offer from Pittsburgh," he said. "I like them. They aren't afraid to play young talent and will put the best people on the field all the time. That's the big thing I like about them. I feel if I go there I have a chance to play and I know they've got a young team."

Green is considering a trip to West Virginia this weekend.
"I'm supposed to og there and supposedly they'll offer on Saturday," he stated. "Other than that visit, I'm thinking about going to Michigan State and Virginia Tech's junior days and maybe Florida State. I'm also looking at camps at Virginia Tech and Michigan this summer."
Currently the junior athlete claims no favorites. With that said, what is Green looking for out of a college?
"I'm looking to see how I relate to the coaches," he said. "I want to know how they'll help me as a person and football player. I also want to see how I fit in with the team on and off the field."
Recently Green capped his junior basketball season after losing in the first round of the playoffs.
"We went .500 and it was a good year," he said. "I felt like I did well, averaging 10-points a game."
