Players continue to flip from Vanderbilt to Penn State. The latest recruit to follow James Franklin from Nashville to Penn State is Trace McSorley. The athlete from Ashburn (Va.) Briar Woods officially committed to Penn State while on a visit there.
"I was thinking about it and with the coaching staff switch they are the ones I was comfortable with," said the 6-foot, 182-pound McSorley. "They were the ones that recruited me, the ones that liked me and they liked what I can do in their system.
"I took a trip up there and realized that it's the place I wanted to be," he said. "I wanted to be a part of the tradition. It's a huge place with great academics and a great football program."
McSorley was on a visit to Penn State until Monday and committed Penn State while still on campus.
"I didn't get to see much of the campus because we were in academic meetings," McSorley said. "The facilities are big time and just being around it made me feel like it's the place I want to be. I didn't know that they were ranked so highly in academics but they are. I know that State College is a great college town and it has that great college feel to it."
McSorley is the fourth player to follow Franklin and his staff to Penn State. The others are Chance Sorrell, Lloyd Tubman and Brendan Brosnan.
