ATH Davis Avoiding Attention

St. Petersburg (Fla.) Catholic superstar Chris Davis answered the phone. That was the biggest surprise about our latest conversation.
“I’ve been limiting the calls,” he said with a laugh. “It gets to be a bit crazy.”

That’s because the 6-foot, 170-pound athlete has over 60 offers and hasn’t really narrowed things down too much. He’s taken one official visit to Boston College in August and won’t set the rest until after his season is over.
“There are still a lot of them,” he said of the teams he’s interested in. “Florida, Miami, Florida State, Boston College, Notre Dame, Southern Cal, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Indiana, South Carolina and Virginia Tech are the ones that stand out.”
His team is 6-1 this season but can’t participate in post-season play. That means that Davis will get to take his last four trips sooner than later.
“A lot of the schools that wanted me as a wide receiver are now telling me I can play quarterback,” he said. “We’ll see what happens and if I can play quarterback that would be great. I’m open to whatever.”
