ATH Brown elects for I-AA

Washington (D.C.) St. John's College High athlete Charles Brown made his decision earlier today. The 5-foot-10, 198-pounder elected to go to Division I-AA despite holding numerous I-A scholarships.
"I committed to South Carolina State," he said. "I think I could have played anywhere, but State was showing more interest in me. I think I have a better chance of doing more things if I go to South Carolina State."

Playing time was one of many factors in the two-star prospect's decision.
"I think I have a chance to play my first year, but it's also a good school and they have great players and a good staff," he stated. "It's a great environment around the school.
"I like the coaches and players have fun. They remind me of my high school coaches. They joke around, but are business too."
Brown was recruited as a tailback.
He held offers from Kansas State, Akron, Towson, Kent State, New Mexico and Northeastern.
