One of the top 2019 recruits in Arizona, three-star quarterback Jacob Conover headed over to Arizona State this past weekend to meet with the new coaching staff.

The Chandler, Ariz., standout landed his latest offer from the Sun Devils and he had a phenomenal time.

“The ASU visit was great,” Conover said.

“Talking to coach (Rob) Likens the offensive coordinator and QB coach was great. I love what he wants to change and create at ASU. Coach (Herm) Edwards is a great man. The energy he brings can change a whole program around. It’s also great to see them trying to bring in the in-state recruits.”

So far, Conover has landed offers from Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, Memphis, Ole Miss, Nevada, Northwestern, Oregon State and Utah State.

Plenty of other programs have been reaching out.

“I’ve been talking to Stanford a lot,” Conover said. “Coach (Tavita) Pritchard and I have a good relationship and it all started when I went to their camp last summer. I’ve been in contact with Ole Miss, their offensive coordinator (Phil) Longo has been talking to me and explained the Ole Miss culture. I’ve also been talking to BYU and their whole new offensive coaching staff. I really am excited to see how the new coaches can turn the team around.

“Also, Ohio State came out to visit and they will be coming back out during the spring to watch me throw. Michigan will also be coming to watch me throw.”

In his junior season, Conover threw for 3,077 yards with 32 touchdowns and two interceptions.
