ASU to get first crack at Texas safety

With big two games already under his belt, getting ready for another big game is nothing new for Euless (Texas) Trinity three-star safety Desmond Williams.
“We’ve already played twice, so we’re going to be better and better this week,” Williams, who is 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, said. “We’ve already played the No. 2 team in the state, DeSoto, and we beat (Arlington) Sam Houston last week 28-7. We had a defensive shutout. We’re hoping to do the same thing against Arlington Martin this week. I won’t be satisfied with anything but a repeat.”

Williams said he’s had about six or seven tackles in each of his first two games.
In between getting ready for his third game, Williams has been busy talking to college coaches.
“I’ve talked to Texas A&M, LSU, Arizona State, Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado State,” he said. “I’ve set up an official visit to Arizona State for October 3. They play USC that weekend, so it should be a great game.”
Heading into the September calling period, Williams said LSU and Arizona State were his top team teams. Is that still the same?
“Yeah, it’s really still the case,” he said. “There’s something about those two teams that I really like.”
