ASU not giving up

A week ago, Santa Fe Springs (Calif.) defensive back Romeo Pellum committed to Washington State after narrowing his choices to the Cougars and Arizona State. We received a text from the talented corner earlier in the day and it sounds like this one may not be over yet.
Pellum sent us a text with a simple message, 'can you change me to a soft commit, I'm really confused right now.'

We caught up with Pellum minutes ago to find out what exactly he was thinking.
"ASU came by the school today and gave me a lot to think about," Pellum said. "Coach Yarber and Coach Simmons called me to say they wanted to come and see me and were going to miss their flight because that's how important I was to them.
"Coach Yarber was saying he felt like I said no to them without really looking at everything ASU had to offer. He was talking about how they were closer to home so my mom could come and see me play and talked about their depth chart.
"They knew that was important to me and they started saying I would have a great chance to come in and compete for playing time and even if I did have to red-shirt, they graduate four corners this coming season and by red-shirt season I would be ready to go.
"They told me they're going to send me a letter of intent and didn't put any pressure on me or anything but just said they would love to have me and they hope I change my mind. I'm still committed to Washington State, that's where I'm going to go but I'm going to still think things over a little more.
"I know I have a week before Signing Day so I'm just going to take all this time to really evaluate what I should do but at this moment, I'm still planning on going to Washington State."
