Jayvaun Wilson was one of many top prospects that visited Arizona State this past weekend and the three-star got a better feel for the program.

The Valencia, Calif., standout who could play either running back or defensive back loved what he heard especially from coach Herm Edwards and now the Sun Devils could be a serious contender.

“ASU was great,” Wilson said.

“The coaching staff is a nice group of guys. They made me feel like I was already a part of the team.”

Edwards took the opportunity to break down the Arizona State program and his vision for the future. Wilson definitely bought in.

“We got to listen to coach Herm in what he does and how he coaches his team and what he expects of you not only as a student-athlete but as an individual to others,” Wilson said.

“I just loved what he had to say to us and how that whole Sun Devil program welcomed me.”

Something else for Wison to consider is that his brother, Jay Jay, will be a senior tight end for the Sun Devils this season. While the two won’t be able to play on the same team, Wilson should have a more inside look at the program under Edwards.

In recent weeks, the three-star prospect said Oregon and Washington are his two favorites. He added that if USC offered then the Trojans would move into the top group as well. Arizona State is now under serious consideration as well.
