Arizona State hosted a bunch of top 2019 in-state prospects over the weekend and standout safety Noa Pola-Gates was one of the recruits in attendance.

The Gilbert (Ariz.) Williams Field recruit had an excellent time as the new Sun Devils’ coaching staff tries to keep more top local players home.

“I had a great time at ASU,” Pola- Gates said. “I was overwhelmed by the love they showed me. What stood out to me most was the vibe and the togetherness with the new staff.”

Something that really struck a chord with Pola-Gates was his budding relationship with the Arizona State coaching staff.

That was only accentuated over the weekend and it could carry a lot of weight as the 2019 prospect continues to work through his early recruitment.

“Coach (Shaun) Nua was a hit with my mom and I’m really feeling coach (Danny) Gonzales and coach (Tony) White," Pola-Gates said. "They really started to speak my language when they discussed the defensive plans. I was starstruck when I got to chop it up with coach (Antonio) Pierce and coach (Herm) Edwards. They are very real and down-to-earth.”

So far, Pola-Gates has landed offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Iowa State, Memphis, Nebraska, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

He’s nowhere close to narrowing down his schools.

“All of them,” Pola-Gates said when asked which teams are standing out.

“I love Oregon’s uniforms, I love Washington’s NFL pipeline, I love ASU after (Saturday), I love U of A for being the first to offer, Utah for the Polynesian connection, Nebraska for their outstanding fan base, Colorado, Memphis and Iowa State for even considering me.”

As for new interest, the 2019 prospect said USC, Alabama, TCU, Penn State and others have been reaching out.
