The quarterback class for the NFL Draft is definitely down from last year and is considered a weak group, but that might make Dwayne Haskins’ upcoming decision that much tougher.

According to ESPN, the Ohio State star quarterback has received a first-round grade from the NFL’s college personnel advisory board.

Bleacher Report has Haskins ranked as his No. 1 quarterback ahead of Duke’s Daniel Jones, West Virginia’s Will Grier and Missouri’s Drew Lock in his recent player rankings.

ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay has Oregon’s Justin Herbert ahead of Haskins in the first round. Both are ranked as top 10 picks, but Herbert has decided to return to college for his final year.

Haskins could choose to do the same and return to Columbus next season even after receiving a first-round grade and going through a coaching switch from Urban Meyer to Ryan Day.

The former four-star from Potomac (Md.) Bullis School has thrown for 4,580 yards with 47 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Just a few weeks ago, Haskins finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting behind Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray, the winner, and Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa.

We ask Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell if he thinks Haskins should be considered a first-round selection, if he’s surprised by his development at Ohio State and whether he should be the first QB taken off the draft board.

FARRELL'S TAKE

“This is a really weak quarterback class compared to last year, and I’m not sure Haskins would have been a first-rounder last April with Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Josh Allen, Josh Rosen and Lamar Jackson. However, who else are you going to take in the first round, if not Haskins? With Herbert coming back and guys like Jones, Grier and Lock being second- or third-rounders, you know someone will make Haskins a first-rounder. I’m a little bit surprised at his development in college because I didn’t see him as a Heisman candidate, but he’s done a great job under the tutelage of Day. Will he be an NFL star? I don’t see it, but I’ve certainly been wrong before.”
