Ask Farrell: Which QB isn't getting enough preseason love?

There are plenty of interesting quarterback storylines heading into next season whether it’s the question of whether Trevor Lawrence could win the Heisman Trophy and lead Clemson to another national title or whether NFL teams should Tank for Tua Tagovailoa and whether Tagovailoa could put Alabama back to No. 1 nationally.
Then there is Georgia’s Jake Fromm, who should place himself early in the first round of the NFL Draft and could have the Bulldogs in playoff contention along with Oregon’s Justin Herbert and transfers like Jalen Hurts at Oklahoma and Justin Fields at Ohio State. Let's also not forget former Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant now at Missouri.
The list of storylines is endless since so many outstanding quarterbacks return to college football next season - and those mentioned above aren’t the only ones.
Sam Ehlinger is coming back to Texas after the Longhorns rocked Georgia in the Sugar Bowl and some are saying they could be a playoff contender. Nebraska has Adrian Martinez coming back for his second season in Scott Frost’s offense. Ian Book helped lead Notre Dame to an undefeated regular season last year.
Then there are veteran standouts like K.J. Costello at Stanford, Khalil Tate at Arizona, Bryce Perkins returns at Virginia, Shea Patterson could have a big season in Michigan’s new offense, Jacob Eason seems to have taken control of the Washington job and Kellen Mond is now in his second season with Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M.

FARRELL'S TAKE
“I’m going with Patterson at Michigan but there are so many intriguing storylines it’s tough to choose just one. But whenever Patterson is mentioned having a breakout season next year with a new offense or being a potential first-rounder, everyone seems to doubt it. I think Patterson is ready to have a huge year under new offensive coordinator Josh Gattis. It’s hard to imagine the Michigan offense under Jim Harbaugh being open and exciting, but I believe he will give control to Gattis and Patterson will thrive in an uptempo offense.
"My second choice would be Mond who can have a big year at Texas A&M, but I could be blinded by the five-star ranking of both Patterson and Mond out of high school. Time will tell.”
