Asiasi not naming favorites

Devin Asiasi does not have a lot of catches this season because Concord (Calif.) De La Salle hardly throws the ball but the 2016 four-star still finds ways to contribute.
Asiasi, rated as the sixth-best tight end in the junior class by Rivals.com, helped De La Salle to another state bowl championship win last weekend and he said being physical keeps things interesting on offense.

Last season, De La Salle lost to Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco in the open division championship but it is back on top again after beating Corona (Calif.) Centennial on Saturday night.
"Especially coming off last year's loss, it's a blessing for me and my team," Asiasi said. "Coming out here and winning the state championship game it's just a true blessing.
"I have fun hitting people. That's my fun. I don't get the ball that much but you have to find that fun hitting people so that's basically what we do."
Recruiting has been put on the back burner during De La Salle's playoff run but the 2016 four-star said things will pick up again soon.
So far, Asiasi has received offers from Arizona, Arizona State, California, Illinoi, San Jose State, Tennessee, UCLA, USC, Vanderbilt, Washington and Washington State. Alabama and LSU have shown preliminary interest.
USC was believed to have a slight edge in his recruitment early on but Asiasi said he wants to start with a clean slate and look at all programs equally.
"Everything is still the same," Asiasi said. "This coming spring and summer I'm looking to make a lot of big moves.
"They're all the same. I'm not really trying to favor anybody right now. Once the recruiting progresses we'll find out."
As for a decision, Asiasi said he's not even close. First, he wants to take some unofficial visits this off-season and he said he would like to commit with teammate and fellow 2016 star Boss Tagaloa but it doesn't necessarily have to be to the same school.
"I'm planning to do it with my boy Boss," Asiasi said.
"What he wants, he wants and what I want, I want. It would be nice to be with my brother."
