Ashley with early top three

Justin (Texas) Northwest running back Drew Ashley waits on his first scholarship offer but is also ready to impress this spring.
Ashley says coaches from schools like SMU have told him they'll be down in the spring to evaluate him. The 5-foot-11, 194-pounder says that he also has a few favorite schools early on.

"Right now, I'd have to say it's LSU, Georgia Tech, and Colorado," Ashley said about early favorites. "Colorado is one of those schools that wasn't originally on my list, but they've been showing me a lot of interest lately."
Ashley says that the SMU coaches are supposed to be coming down this spring to take a closer look at his abilities.
"Coach (Eric) Roark says they're going to come down and see me," Ashley said. "They just want to come and check us out. I haven't talked to a lot of coaches personally yet though."
No trips are scheduled right now for Ashley but he is planning on making an appearance at the NIKE Training Camp in a few weeks in Fort Worth, Texas.
"I don't think I'm going to be able to go anywhere else, but after next month, I'm probably going to get out and start looking more."
