Ashley has early favorite

Calvin Ashley was one of the best offensive tackles at the Elite 50 Experience last week and that's especially impressive since he's a 2017 prospect.
The Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Phillips standout came to the event that correlated with the Under Armour All-America Game with recruiting news, too.

Ashley, a 6-foot-7, 270-pound prospect, said he already has a frontrunner even though he just finished his sophomore season.
"Florida State is the leader," Ashley said.
"I've liked the school since I was little, since I was like eight years old. It's been a big part of me."
The Seminoles are making it clear he's a top priority for them as well. The Orlando Dr. Phillips recruit says the Florida State staff is already aggressively recruiting him and he definitely likes the early attention.
It could be tough to beat Florida State for Ashley but it's still early.
"They said they'd like me to get up there and they'd like me at the school a lot," Ashley said. "It's just a good environment."
Florida State has the early edge but Ashley plans to take his time with recruiting. He said a commitment probably won't come until his senior season and that some other programs are also standing out early on.
The 2017 recruit has his eyes on South Carolina, Florida, Miami and Louisville and plenty of other offers have already come in for him. Alabama, Michigan and others are reaching out as well.
Ashley was the top-rated offensive lineman by Rivals.com at the Elite 50 Experience last week.
