SAN ANTONIO -- Practices resumed at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Thursday and the action got restarted with some light scrimmaging following Wednesday’s off day. There was only an hour of live-ball work, but a number of committed prospects managed to shine in a shortened workout. Below is a ranking of how each college fared.

1. Ohio State Buckeyes

Michael Jordan impressed with his power during the scrimmage and showed all the raw tools to develop into a great college player. Jake Hausmann is incredibly agile for his size and made his mark blocking downfield. Jonathan Cooper made a tackle in the backfield, while Austin Mack again flashed solid hands and the ability to get separation down field. There was a stretch of the day’s scrimmage that saw three plays in a row made by Ohio State commits.

2. Ole Miss Rebels

Quarterback Shea Patterson continues to distance himself from everyone else at the position. On Thursday, the five-star prospect was particularly effective on quick throws that showed how consistently accurate he can be. He spent a good chunk of time throwing while rolling out and put passes on the money despite being on the run. Wide receiver DeKaylin Metcalf looked smooth in drills. And while he has been quiet in 11-on-11 sessions all week, he shows solid hands and the ability to high-point passes on the rare occasions that he’s targeted.

3. USC Trojans

Tyler Vaughns has held his own all week, but had his best workout on Thursday. The four-star wide receiver used his height effectively all afternoon and ran good routes as well. Vaughns, who is known for his hands, once again caught everything thrown his way. He even made a couple of nice throws on trick plays. Fellow wide receiver Michael Pittman continues to be a steady option in the passing game despite not standing out as stellar on Thursday.

4. Minnesota Golden Gophers

Linebacker Carter Coughlin may be the only Minnesota commit involved in the game, but he continues to be one of the week’s most consistently solid prospects. Coughlin changes direction quickly and has a knack for filling running lanes. He again was disruptive as a pass rusher and ruined a handful of play during 11-on-11 work. Coughlin is rarely out of position has the athleticism to overcome a number of missteps.

5. Stanford Cardinal

Curtis Robinson turned in one of the day’s most notable individual performances. The five-star linebacker was quick to the football all afternoon. He closes extremely well and was reliable in coverage. He sees plays developing at an advanced rate and seems to be able to ready offenses well. Stanford wide receiver pledge Simi Fehoko was up and down all afternoon, while quarterback K.J. Costello struggled.

6. LSU Tigers

One of the bigger linebackers at the event, Erick Fowler retains surprising quickness for a player that carries a 235-pound frame. He showed nice depth in his drops and exploded to the football on run plays. There aren’t many players that look and move like Fowler, and the size-speed combination is what makes him special.
