DB Jordan Fuller, Old Tappan, N.J.

Latest: Fuller has really drawn out his recruitment trying to figure out the best place for him. Technically, he is officially down to eight but Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State are the four schools with the best chance to land him. Fuller has official visits scheduled to Ohio State on Jan. 15 and Michigan on Jan. 22. He is talking to Penn State about visiting on Jan. 29 and has already taken an official visit to Notre Dame. A decision will come on or near National Signing Day.

In his words: “I’m still considering my top eight but I’m taking official visits to Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan and Notre Dame. Some time after get all those visits done, (I’ll commit). I think Ohio State does everything the right way. It’s a first class organization. I like how Michigan pays attention to New Jersey a lot because I feel like we’re one of the best states for football. I’m still in constant communication with Penn State. They’re not out of it at all. Notre Dame is still really high on my list. I don’t really know the new Rutgers guys. I know coach Ash but nobody else.”

Prediction: Ohio State

DE Josh Brown, Charlotte (N.C.) Mallard Creek

Latest: Brown has been committed to Florida State since September but took a number of visits after his commitment. He took his official visit to Florida State on Oct. 10 and solidified his commitment. Brown is an early graduate and will be on campus in Tallahassee soon.

In his words: “I already moved in. I’m recruiting Brian Burns, Trayvon Mullen and Demetris Robertson. I’m competing against some great competition out here so that should make me even better. They’ve got me playing basically the same position I did in high school.”

OL Connor McGovern, Lehman (Pa.) Lake Lehman Senior

Latest: Penn State locked up McGovern’s commitment back in late March. He has remained a solid commit since then, not taking any visits and signing his financial aid agreement. McGovern is an early enrollee and will move to campus early next week.

In his words: “This is an unreal experience. It was great to go against great competition. It felt like I started out a little slow but I picked it up as the day went on. The three difference quarterbacks have difference cadences. Brendan Ferns is the top guy I’m trying to recruit. I fly out here on Sunday morning then I have to go right to campus to move in.”

WR Cameron Chambers, Sicklerville (N.J.) Timber Creek

Latest: Chambers was Michigan State’s first commit of the 2016 class. He has been one of the ringleaders of this recruiting class. Chambers took official visit in September and hasn’t visited any other school.

In his words: “The completion was great. It’s pretty cool to be out here with all the top talent. We have a couple Michigan State guys out here. We’re all talking and getting together. We’re definitely trying to get Donnie Corley. He’s on the West team but we see him in the hotel.

Dexter Lawrence

DT Dexter Lawrence, Wake Forest, N.C.

Latest: Lawrence committed to Clemson at a ceremony at his school on Dec. 14. N.C. State was the other top contender. He is an early enrollee and will move in after the Army game.

In his words: “How the people were and how I felt when I went there. I visited three or four times and I got a good feeling every time I went there. It’s like the perfect fit for me. It’s going to be a good (National Championship) game but I believe Clemson will pull it out. It’s not going to be a big margin but pretty high scoring. Christian Wilkins told me he’s going to work with me on some hand drills, watch film with me, and teach me all the plays. We have a good relationship and on the field we can dominate together.”

OL Clark Yarbrough, Woodberry Forest (Va.) Woodberry Forest School

Latest: Stanford picked up Yarbrough’s commitment in mid-May. He will take his official visit to Stanford next weekend with most of the commits.

In his words: “Things are going perfectly. I’m admitted and I’ll sign my NLI in a month from now. I’m really excited with everything that’s going on and them winning the Rose Bowl. I thought (the guy chanting ‘Heisman’ behind McCaffery) was funny. He was definitely saying what a lot of people were thinking but he could have gotten the message across in a less obnoxious way. I think the guys that are graduating really set the example for the young guys and my class. We all know the work ethic it’s going to take to keep that high level.”

OL Josh Ball, Fredericksburg (Va.) Stafford Senior

Latest: Ball committed to Florida State at the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour in early June. On Jan. 15 Ball will take his official visit to Tallahassee. The following weekend Ball will officially visit Virginia.

In his words: Everything is good with Florida State. I’m about to take my official visit next week. After next weekend I’m going to take an official visit to Virginia. The coaching staff is there and I was kind of tight with coach Tujague. I don’t think I’ll flip. I just want to get a read on how he is.”
