Arkansas OL gets Big 12 offer

Jonesboro (Ark.) offensive lineman Grant Cook picked up his second scholarship offer on Friday.
The 6-foot-6, 295-pounder received an offer from Oklahoma State during an unofficial visit to the Stillwater, Okla., campus.

The Cowboys join the in-state Razorbacks in the race for Cook.
"Right now, every college is pretty much the same," he said. "I just want to look at every option."
Cook has received text messages from Ole Miss and Tennessee in recent weeks and has gotten new mail from Florida State and Miami (Fla.).
Cook and his family decided to see Oklahoma State while on a wedding trip. They spent the first part of their day looking around campus.
"My family was coming to Oklahoma City for a wedding, so we stopped by and sort of spent the day there," he said. "The campus was pretty nice. It was big, but not real spread out so everything was within walking distance.
"There were some good restaurants real close."
Cook also got the chance to meet with Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy, offensive line coach Joe Wickline and his recruiter, tight ends coach Doug Meacham.
"We just sat down and talked for a little while," he said. "(Meacham) is a real nice guy who seems like he knows what he's doing. He's also real easy to get along with."
Following the meeting with the staff, Cook got an up-close look at Oklahoma State's football facilities.
"The facilities are good," he said. "They are making a bunch of improvements. They said by 2008 or 2009 that the stadium would be a complete bowl. They also are building an indoor facility."
Being from the state of Arkansas and the Razorbacks dominance of in-state recruiting, it would be logical to think Cook is a lock for the Hogs.
While he does like Arkansas, it's not a given that he will end up there.
"I'm from Jonesboro, which is five and a half hours away from Fayetteville," he said. "My family and I always pulled for Arkansas State growing up and went to games there. It was just easier than driving all that way."
Running backs coach Danny Nutt is recruiting Cook for the Razorbacks.
"He and coach Meacham are pretty much the same," Cook said. "He offered me a scholarship after a basketball game."
Hugh Freeze is recruiting for Ole Miss.
Cook plans to attend several camps this summer in the hopes that more schools will offer.
