Arkansas landed the biggest commitment of the Chad Morris era on Monday when Rivals100 wide receiver Trey Knox pledged to the Hawgs over Tennessee, Florida and several others. The 6-foot-5 playmaker made it official in a video released via his Twitter account.

"I'm officially a Hawg," Knox told Rivals.com. "This is something I've been thinking about for a while and I can't wait to get on campus and be a part of what they're doing down there."

Knox becomes the second four-star prospect from Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Blackman High School to commit to Arkansas, joining his friend and teammate Adonis Otey. Knox also joins his former 7-on-7 teammate and IMG Academy wide receiver Shamar Nash, a Memphis native, as four-star wide receivers committed to Arkansas. The Tennessee trio plans to be a big part of righting the ship under Morris.

"We should have every opportunity to come in and play early and play together and that's big," Knox said. "Obviously we are going to have to earn everything but we are all ready to work and it's going to be fun to go there with my guys."

Knox will be featured at wide receiver and has been compared by the Arkansas staff to past wide receivers they have developed, including most recently Courtland Sutton, who was selected in this year's NFL Draft.

"They have told me that I remind them so much of him and that's a big compliment," Knox said. "He has a great career and is now in the league and obviously that's the goal for me, too."

Knox said Arkansas slow start to the year gave him some pause but ultimately he has faith that Morris and his staff are the right men to handle the rebuild.

"That was one of my biggest reservations because they don't look so hot," Knox said. "But those are none of his guys. He didn't recruit them. So that give me hope that once he gets his people in there we can do big things. That didn't really phase me. They're going to get the program right."

With his commitment officially handled, Knox said he's shifting his focus to his senior season, where he is playing quarterback, wide receiver and linebacker this year.

"I want to win a state championship and that's my goal," Knox said. "I'm going to enroll early so I don't have much time left enjoy the high school experience and then get ready to make plays at Arkansas."

Knox becomes the eighth four-star in the class, which is now firmly ranked in the Top 15 in the country. Currently, Arkansas is on pace to have its best recruiting class since 2009, when it signed eight four-stars and one five-star prospect.
