Arkansas, Kentucky pique Lang's interest

Dante Lang is nowhere near a decision. Lang, who plays both tight end and defensive end, holds four offers and feels there are many more options that are yet to arrive. Still, he’s not wasting time investigating the opportunities in front of him currently. His two SEC offers stand out from the pack.

Arkansas and Kentucky have both made things official, and Lang is still developing opinions on each. He names no favorite, but the Wildcats’ program is more familiar by virtue of a past campus visit.

“We did a visit up there last year when I did a bus tour,” Lang said. “They have a really good campus. I didn’t get to do too much, but I liked it.”

Arkansas is a little a more foreign to Lang. But while he is yet to see the school’s campus, his relationship with the Razorbacks’ staff is growing stronger by the week.

“I like the coaches there,” Lang said of Arkansas. “They’re showing me a lot of love. I haven’t been out there yet, though”

Then there are the teams that have yet to offer but could potentially change everything. Miami is in contact with Lang, and the three-star prospect seems intrigued. The Hurricanes would likely jump to the top of his list should an offer arrive.

Still, it seems that it’s an SEC school that holds the trump card here.

“LSU … that’s the one I want,” Lang said. “I like everything about them honestly. That’s the school I grew up cheering for.” Lang attends Boca Raton (Fla.) High School and is being recruitment mostly as a defensive end. Still, plenty of schools have interest in him as a big tight end.

RIVALS REACTION: Lang recently crossed the radar of the Miami coaching staff and has spoken face-to-face with Hurricanes’ staffers via Facetime. LSU seems like a bit more of a long shot to offer at this juncture. Still, the possibility of either or both makes his recruitment difficult to project at this juncture.
