Arkansas DL working hard this summer

Wynne, Ark. defensive tackle L.T. Walker would normally be the top prospect in the Natural State in many years. However, with the talent at Springdale this year Walker is left fighting for a top three spot in the Arkansas preseason state rankings, which will be released Monday afternoon. He has a list of scholarship offers that is telling of a high profile prospect.
"I haven't picked up any new offers in the last month or so," Walker said. "My offer list is still Arkansas, Houston, Ole Miss, Oregon and Tennessee. I am hearing a lot from Louisville, Washington, Florida State, Southern Cal and some other schools right now."
The 6-foot-3, 308-pound Walker attended the Oxford NIKE camp where he ran the 40-yard dash in 5.16 seconds, posted a 22-inch vertical jump and did 20 reps on the bench press.
"Right now most of my favorites are equal," Walker said. "All the schools that have offered me are still all up there, but some of the other schools recruiting me like Washington, Louisville, Southern Cal and Florida State are all up there."
As a junior Walker collected 62 tackles, five sacks and one interception. He was also named to the class 4A all-state squad.
"I really want to make sure that I get a good education," Walker said. "That way I will have something to fall back on if football doesn't work out. I am looking for a good atmosphere and a chance to play early."
The only camp in Walkers plans this summer was the Oxford NIKE camp. He said there is still a chance he might attend another camp, but as of now there is not one in the plans.
"I am doing my own workouts this summer," Walker said. "I have been working out harder than I ever have and been doing it everyday."
