Arizona Wildcats land sleeper

The Arizona Wildcats scored a committal from a sleeper prospect who flew under the radar screen this season. When you play on a team that finishes 1-9, many times you can be missed.
You may want to chalk this one up to a solid job of scouting by the Arizona staff.

The player the Wildcats received a pledge from offensive guard Ishmael Garcia (6-5, 338, 5.4) from Pomona (Calif.) Garey. At Garcia’s size and weight, he has something that you can’t teach.
“I loved Arizona’s facilities and their players are awesome,” Garcia said. “Arizona is a young team with a lot of ability.”
“I liked coach (John) Mackovic and he’s had success in the past,” Garcia said. “I know he’s going to take this program somewhere.”
“I don’t how many pancakes I had but I had a bunch,” Garcia said.
Even though Garcia has the size of a tackle, he was recruited as a guard, the position that he played in high school. Offensive line coach Charlie Dickey was Garcia’s recruiter and he was hosted by Wildcat true freshman quarterback Ryan O’Hara.
"I hope I can come in and play right away. I am going to work hard. I can do some damage," Garcia said.
