Arizona star inches closer to pick

Clayton Walker keeps inching closer to a college decision.
Two weeks ago, he had scheduled his first visit, one to Washington (Dec. 14), and had just received his first scholarship offer from the Huskies.

Now, he has another visit scheduled. He’s going to Oregon State on Dec. 7. There is one caveat to the Oregon State visit. If Walker and his Scottsdale (Ariz.) Horizon squad, which is 7-1 and ranked No. 4 in class 5A, make it to the state finals, Walker will have to move the visit date with the Beavers. OSU coaches were at his game last weekend.
Arizona and Arizona State also remain in the hunt for Walker. But it’s clear who his No. 1 team is.
“Washington is my leader,” Walker said. “They gave me my first offer. They’ve kind of stuck by me the whole way and gave me my first chance. That made me feel good.”
Walker is 6-foot-4, 270 pounds and is in his third year as a varsity starter.
