Arizona sleeper lands first offer

Cornerback Jeremy Morris (5-10, 178, 4.59) from Chandler, Ariz., was one of the many standouts at the Kramer to Conway camp this past Sunday at Los Angeles (Calif.) Valley College. Under conditions of sweltering heat, Morris never backed down from a rep and more than held his own.
"The camp was fun," Morris said. "I learned a lot from the NFL coaches.

"There were a lot of good football players there, so I knew I had to improve my game," Morris said. "I learned a lot of stuff at that camp that I will be able to use this coming season.
"I learned to read different coverages and how to read the quarterback's feet," Morris said. "Knowing that gives you an idea when the receiver will go into their break and throw the ball."
Though Morris is flying somewhat under the radar, he does have an offer from New Mexico State. This is very telling since, New Mexico State's new head coach, DeWayne Walker is known for being one of the best talent evaluators out there and that the Aggies have offered him is an eye opener.
Morris is also received telephone calls from San Diego State an d Fresno State. He has also received letters from UCLA and Washington.
"I don't know too much about New Mexico State," Morris said. "My parents and I are still researching.
"It is really special getting my first offer," Morris said. "I'm not taking anything for granted. I hope to get more offers, but New Mexico State will always be near the top.
What is Morris looking for in a college?
"The first thing I'm going to look at is the school's graduation rate for football players," Morris said. "Then I'm going to look into the coaching staff and see how they work. Third on the list will be the opportunity for early playing time."
The scouting report on Morris is has excellent feet and good closing speed, which helps him in coverage.
As a junior, Morris made all-region (HM) after accounting for 62 tackles, six interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
Morris is definitely one to watch this fall.
