Arizona sleeper getting notice

As Pac10Recruting stated yesterday Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro is fast becoming a school that is churning out D-I prospects. The last player on the list of D-I probable prospects is a sleeper linebacker who racked up post-season honors as well as tackles.
This player in question is linebacker/fullback Christian Serena (6-1, 230, 4.59).

Serena racked up over 120 tackles and was selected 1st-team all-conference and all-city as a linebacker his junior season. He was also honored all-state (HM) for his play at linebacker.
“Christian had a bunch of tackles behind the line of scrimmage but we didn’t keep that stat,” head coach Stuart Goldstein said.
“Serena has an excellent work ethic and has done a great job getting ready in the off-season to prepare himself for his senior season,” Goldstein said.
Serena is a star in the weight room as well. He power cleans 280 pounds, benches 360, squats 480 and dead lifts 490.
Versatility is a key ingredient with this recruit. Serena could end up playing linebacker, strong safety or fullback on the collegiate level.
Serena is an aggressive and physical player who has an uncanny knack of finding the football from his linebacker spot.
Serena is a total team player who will do whatever a coach asks him to do. The team comes first with this guy.
Right now Serena is more of a Mountain West or WAC recruit. Schools such as Colorado State, New Mexico, UNLV, Utah, Fresno State, and Hawaii are showing interest.
With so many other big time recruits on Saguaro this season, Serena will be seen by many of the nation’s top football programs. If he lives up to his potential look for Pac10 and Big XII teams to join in the fray for his services…
