Arizona OL up to 11 offers

The Grand Canyon State of Arizona has another solid year of football recruits and one of the very best that the state has to offer for the class of 2006 is offensive tackle/defensive lineman John Romero (6-5, 295, 4.9) from Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe Catholic.
Romero has 11 offers on the table. Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State, Utah, San Diego State, UTEP and Nevada are sampling of the schools that have offered scholies.

As a junior, Romero was an all-state, all-city and all-league performer.
A two-way standout, Romero told Rivals.com that he is being recruited about 50/50 for offense and defense.
Romero hasn't set any visits yet and isn't planning to until about mid-season. He worked on his skills at Arizona's football camp.
"I learned a couple of things that I will be able to take into my football season," Romero said. "I learned new techniques on footwork that helped my quickness."
The Wildcats are looking good for an official trip out of Romero and Arizona is the only school he's surer he will visit.
What is Romero looking for in a school?
"I want to go to a school that is relatively close to home," Romero said. "I want to make it easy for my parents to come and see me play."
"The coaching staff will also be an important consideration," Romero said. "I would like to go and talk to my coaches about things other than football."
""I would also like to attend a school with a family atmosphere," Romero said. "Of course academics will also be important."
"It doesn't matter if the school has a winning tradition as long as they're serious about building one and that is their goal," Romero said. "I just want to get there and help the school to continue to win or help the program become a winner."
