Arizona OL one of the best in the west

Offensive lineman Christian Westerman (6-5, 290, 5.0) from Chandler, Ariz., burst onto the scene with a standout performance at the prestigious USC Rising Stars camp the summer going into his junior season. He may have been the best offensive lineman at that camp and that is saying something because this camp is notable for drawing the nation's best talent.
Westerman proved his camp showing was no fluke as he earned all-Arizona, all-state, all-area and all-region for his junior season performance.

Westerman is extremely popular along the recruiting trail. He currently has in the neighborhood of 24 offers. Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Cal, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, Northern Arizona, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, Texas, UCLA, USC, and Washington have come up with offers.
"I have not begun narrow things down, yet," Westerman said regarding he is beginning to shorten his very impressive list of colleges. "Right now I am just open to everyone.
"I am taking a junior day trip this Friday to Texas," Westerman said. "I'm pretty high on them.
"I will probably head down to the local junior days at ASU and U of A," Westerman said. "I may do a couple other junior days, I'm not sure yet. I still have a lot of time.
At this point Westerman isn't sure if he will be taking in any camps this spring or early summer, but he is thinking about taking in the Florida camp.
What will Westerman be looking for in a college?
"Good academics and a college with a good athletic program," Westerman said. "I also want to play on a team that wins most of its games.
"I probably won't make up my mind until the end of my senior season," Westerman said. "I'm planning on taking all of five of my official visits.
Westerman and his Chandler teammates are working very hard this offseason as they have a chance to be pretty good this season. They have most of their offensive line back and the D-line is looking good. The goal of this team is make a good run in the state tournament.
The scouting report on Westerman is he has all the ingredients you look for in an offensive lineman. He's very physical, has quick feet and outstanding strength. Westerman is definitely among the best in the west, if not the nation.
