Arizona lands JUCO DB

The death of the Arizona Wildcat program under the leadership of head coach John Mackovac has been extremely exaggerated. Has a matter of fact Mackovac has become a latter day Lazarus and the recruiting fortunes of the U of A are upwardly mobile.
The Wildcats land a very talented defensive back this weekend in Zeonte Sherman (6-1, 197, 4.45) from Arizona Western Junior College.

Sherman was originally from Florida where he played at Saint Petersburg (Fla.) Pinellas Park. He was a hot item back then and was recruited by the likes of the big three in Florida – Miami, FSU and Florida all were interested.
Sherman has the talent to play anywhere in the defensive backfield giving the Wildcats an abundant amount of choices.
As a freshman at Arizona Western, Sherman had 32 tackles and four interceptions while playing cornerback. As a sophomore he racked up 69 tackles and had two picks for his sophomore season as a free safety.
Sherman will sign with the Wildcats on Wednesday December 18th the first day JUCO players can sign.
Things are looking up for Mackovac and the Wildcats. Good get for Arizona.
