Arizona Lands Cali OL

Arizona has a commitment from Ventura (Calif.) Buena offensive lineman Brandon Williams. Williams was actually offered a scholarship by the Cats his junior season and has since been re-offered two separate times.
"They actually sent us a letter three times to offer Brandon," Williams father Brad said. "The first time was Brandon's junior year. Then after Coach Mackovic was fired, he got another written letter from someone in the athletic department saying the offer was still solid. Then when Coach Stoops took over, we got another letter saying they were looking forward to Brandon playing for the Cats next year.

"Brandon actually committed to Arizona right around the time of the coaching change but the last letter we received said they were still honoring the commitment. Arizona is a good school and the campus is in a nice part of the state where it's not too hot. I mean it gets warm, but nothing too unbearable. A few other schools have stayed in touch with Brandon including Arizona State. I think they want Brandon to take a visit in the next couple of weeks. I'm sure what Brandon is going to do, he may take the visit just to see something else but I know he's happy with Arizona."
Williams, 6-6, 290 pounds was invited to play in the CaliFlorida Bowl but had to leave the second day of practice due to a family emergency. He was nicknamed 'Bog Foot' by the other players because he wears a size 21 shoe.
