Arizona lands a good one

At the NorCal Nike camp back in May, one of the top three cover corners we saw that day was Manteca (Calif.) defensive back Mike Turner. With a handful of scholarship offers to consider, Turner ended the recruiting process earlier today and is Pac 10 bound.
"I'm going to Arizona," Turner said. "It's something I've been thinking about for awhile now and I just decided to go ahead and do it. I know right now, Arizona might not be known as one of the better football programs around but I like the idea of going there and building them in to one of the best teams out there.

"Arizona had everything I was looking for. I like the Pac 10 and wanted to play in a warm weather state. I've never been to Arizona before but I'm not worried about that. I know I'll like like it there and I've heard nothing but great things about the school and the atmosphere they have there.
"Another huge factor for me was my relationship with the coaches and especially Coach Kish. He's more like a friend than a coach and he's someone I really bonded with right away. I also like the opportunity to play early at Arizona and that's definitely something I'm going to work hard for.
"The coaches told me they'll be graduating a few defensive backs after this next season so my goal is to come in there and not play but start and make an impact. I'm a hard worker and have a lot of heart. If I put everything I have in to something, I believe it's going to happen so I'm going to do my best to get out there and make an impact right away."
Turner, 5-10, 165 pounds also held offers from Arizona State, Washington and Washington State but he said his commitment is solid and he's not going to take any other visits except to Tucson.
"No, my word means something, when I commit to something, that's it for me," Turner said. "I'm not looking around at any other schools. If I wanted to do that, I would have never committed in the first place. Arizona is the only school I'll be visiting."
