The Skinny: According to many, Thomas is among the top three prospects from the Grand Canyon State this season. Vandy has Thomas as their number one target in Arizona this season.
With a closer look it is easy to see why Thomas is causing such a stir. “Marcus is a great and hard working young man,” Tolleson head coach Dan Widmaier said. “Marcus has a tremendous attitude and he’s always asking us coaches how he can improve. He has a never say quit approach to the game and life,” Widmaier said.
As a running back is has great vision. He can find the smallest crevice and make a hole out of it. “Marcus has great moves,” Widmaier said. “He’s very slippery and squirmy. Marcus was our entire offense last year. Everybody knew it and still Marcus dominated.”
You want to talk about tough. Read on. Marcus played half the season with a very painful thigh bruise. He didn’t tell anybody. Marcus just sucked it up and kept on playing. Marcus is a throwback to the day you had to drag players off the field. When you consider his injury and add up his stats that racked up as a junior, then you have to marvel about this tough and gritty athlete…
