Arizona FB proved merit at NIKE

Another player who did a nice job standing out at the Nike Camp held in San Diego was Bobby Ili (6-1, 235, 4.8) from Gilbert, Ariz. On the football field he is tough, battery ramming type of back. Gilbert gives him the ball and the chains move down the field.
Ili was selected second-team all-state and first-team all-region after rushing for over 1,500 yards and scoring approximately 25 rushing touchdowns.

Washington, Arizona, Arizona State, UTEP and New Mexico State have already come by the school showing interest in Ili.
Ili is an outstanding player who could play defense and wanted to play some defense but the Gilbert coaching staff nixed that idea.
“Bobby wanted to play defense, but we thought better of it,” Gilbert head coach Jesse Parker said. “We hand him the ball so much we don’t want to risk him on defense.”
“Bobby is very tough,” Parker said. “He is willing to carry the ball anytime, under any conditions.”
“There is no doubt the reason we were successful last season was because of Booby,” Parker said. “We would hand him the ball between 20 to 30 times per game.”
“Another thing about Bobby is he’s very durable,” Parker said. “He didn’t miss a down due to injuries last year.”
Most schools are looking at Ili as a fullback, but he does have the potential to be a defensive end or a linebacker on the next level.
