Arizona DL close on offer No. 1

A defensive end we really liked at the Nike Camp in Oregon was Beaux Babinchak out of Glendale (Ariz.) Ironwood. Babinchak was rated one of the top three defensive linemen in the camp and is close to landing his first scholarship offer.
Babinchak, 6-0, 225 pounds doesn't have the prototype size some colleges are looking for in a defensive end but he was dominant in Oregon. He clocked a 5.16 in the 40 and did 29 reps on the bench. Babinchak was also unblockable in the one on one drills and combines good pass rushing technique with a relentless style of play.

As a junior, the rush end totaled 68 tackles, 31 for loss, six quarterback sacks and four forced fumbles. As a sophomore, Babinchak made 82 tackles, 44 for loss and had 12 sacks and led his team to the 5A State Championship.
On the recruiting front, Babinchak camped at San Diego State and the Aztecs could be close to offering.
"That's what they told me, they said they're very close to offering," Babinchak said. "I've always liked SDSU a lot, especially since both of my parents went there. My dad played middle linebacker and was the team defensive MVP in 1984. They have a great campus and beautiful weather. It would be an honor to go there, SDSU is an awesome college."
In addition, Babinchak is also interested in Oregon, Washington and UCLA. Academically, he's carrying a 3.0 and scored a 950 on the SAT.
