Arizona athlete stock is rising

One of the hottest prospects in the western region is three-star athlete Markus Wheaton (6-0, 180, 4.5) from Chandler, Ariz., he has already taken two trips and is setting up two more plus he recently received an offer that has also given something extra to think about.
USC recently entered the fray of schools that have offered Wheaton a scholie and according to his dad, Markus Wheaton, sr., that has given him something to ponder.

The Trojans join schools such their archrival UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, Oregon State, Colorado, Nebraska, Colorado State, UNLV, Utah, SMU and more.
"Markus has already visited Oregon and Colorado officially," Wheaton Sr., said. "He has also visited Arizona unofficially."
"Right now he is in the process of setting up visits to UCLA and Cal," Wheaton Sr., said. "With USC offering that give Markus something else to think about."
"Schools are recruiting him as wide receiver or a defensive back," Wheaton Sr., said. "He would probably wants to play receiver a little more, but he really just wants to play football and help his team out anyway he can."
Another thing to like about Wheaton is he is fully qualified and has already been cleared by the NCAA clearing house.
Wheaton was selected to the Rivals.com Arizona Preseason Top 30 for the class of 2009 landing as the Grand Canyon State's No. 7 prospect at any position.
