Anzalone emerges on national radar

Alex Anzalone has had a pretty good week and that's putting it mildly.
Until recently Anzalone was regarded as one of the better linebackers in Pennsylvania but a recent chain of events has led many to start calling him one of the nation's top prospects.

In the past week alone Anzalone has seen his offer list explode. Last Friday he picked up an offer from Florida. On Saturday, Michigan State came in. Ohio State offered him on Sunday and then the offer from Alabama came on Monday.
"There were a couple of coaches that have been telling me I would get a bunch of offers," Anzalone said. "I just really didn't know what caliber of schools they would be coming from."
Anzalone attended a junior day at Ohio State over the weekend and that's when he learned of the offer from the Buckeyes.
"It was really great there," he said. "The coaches were really nice and down to earth. They mentioned they didn't want to pressure me or anything. They just want to develop a relationship as the process continues. Their facilities were nice but everyone's are.
"I went to their basketball game against Michigan State and the atmosphere was really cool."
Penn State is one school that has not offered yet but that could change soon. Anzalone will be in Happy Valley this weekend and he expects an offer then.
This spring he hopes to attend practices at Florida and Alabama.
