Another trip date for Griffin

Oakland (Calif.) McClymonds running back Willie Griffin will kick off his season this Friday when the Warriors take on a talented Vallejo (Calif.) squad. After splitting carries three ways last season, Griffin can't wait to get started.
Griffin, 5-8, 195 pounds is one of the top backs in the West region and is poised for a big senior season. The athlete rushed for 850 yards and 15 touchdowns last season as the Warriors won the Oakland section championship. The team had a three man rotation at running back but this season, Griffin is the focal point of the offense.

"I can't wait," Griffin said. "We had some great seniors last year including two other backs who rotated in but this year, I'll be getting the bulk of the carries and I'm definitely looking forward to it."
On the recruiting front, Griffin set up his first official visit a few weeks ago to Colorado for (Oct. 13). He has since set up one other visit and is close on a third.
"I'm going to Oregon State for the Civil War game against Oregon on (Nov. 24). We have a game that Friday so I'll either have to leave right after it or early Saturday morning. I'm also going to visit Washington after the season. It will be in December but it depends on when our season is over, it could be on the first weekend or the second.
"Those are my top three schools right now. All three have called along with Oregon, Cal and San Jose State. I don't know if I'll take all five of my trips but I'll definitely take those three I mentioned and then go from there."
