Another Texas DB gets offer

Sugar Land (Texas) Kempner safety Chris Banjo has joined the ever growing list of players in the Lone Star State that has received scholarship offers. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound prospect definitely passed the eyeball test at the Rivals.com Junior Day held back in February and now coaches from all over the area are heavily recruiting him.
"I have received my first offer from UTEP, but I have not committed," he said. "I received that offer about a month ago. Coach Mike Price sent me my offer letter in the mail. I was real excited about it, too."

He's also getting some good looks from other programs.
"Navy and North Texas have been added to my recruiting list and are sending me mail and text messages," he said. "I have also gained weight and now weigh 190 pounds. I was 175 at the junior day back in February."
Other teams showing interest in Banjo, an all-area pick in 2006, are New Mexico, Northwestern, Louisiana Tech, Rice, Sam Houston State and Boise State.
