Darion Green-Warren returned to UCLA this past weekend and even though it’s still early in his recruitment, it could be a big deal for the Bruins.

The 2020 cornerback from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei has started to develop a strong relationship with position coach Demetrice Martin, who’s been recruiting Green-Warren for a while.

Getting back to UCLA this past weekend for the Colorado matchup was another positive step for the 2020 recruit.

“I had a great time,” Green-Warren said.

“I'm really starting to feel good about UCLA. The first time I went I was jus in awe of the Rose Bowl and atmosphere. But this time I had a chance to see how coach (Martin) interacts with his players and see why he is a great coach. He is definitely a coach I could see myself playing for.”

So far, Green-Warren has landed offers from Nebraska, Nevada, Oklahoma, UCLA and Utah.

The Mater Dei standout said USC and Oregon have reached out recently and things could pick up even further as his sophomore season continues.

“It's definitely exciting times right now with the offers and interest from new schools,” Green-Warren said.

As for upcoming visits, Green-Warren said he will continue to take trips to UCLA and USC and in the spring he’s planning to see Oklahoma and Nebraska.

Originally from Edmond, Okla., the Sooners could definitely play a factor in his recruitment. Getting to visit with the Huskers is also important because Green-Warren has a strong bond with position coach Donte Williams.

“Coach Donte is my guy,” Green-Warren said.
