Another star from Edison

Fresno (Calif.) Edison is always one of the top programs out West for getting kids out to Div I colleges. This year is no exception as not only do the Tigers have two of the top defensive backs in the state, but a very talented running back as well in John Tate.
At Edison, everyone knows about standout cornerback Robert Golden and safety Brandon Leslie. Another player picking up Div I offers right now is running back John Tate.

Tate, 6-0, 200 pounds has a nice combination of size, speed and power and is coming off of a very good summer.
"He really blew up this summer, I can't believe how good he has looked," Tiger coach Tony Perry said. "His speed has picked up, he's strong, in passing league games, he would make a catch and no one wanted to get in his way. We did some things with the pads on and he was running over people, making guys miss, he looks great right now."
Tate landed early offers from Nevada and San Jose State and could be close to picking up several others.
"There are a lot of schools that just want film of his first two games before offering," Perry said. "He's really close with a few schools. Washington and Arizona, they love him. Arizona State, San Diego State and Boise State, they love him too.
"They're all saying the same things to me, they just want some senior film but they're so high on him, it sounds like close to a done deal. John doesn't have any favorites right now, he wants to take his time, go on his trips and then make a decision. I told a lot of these schools that they better jump on now because in a few more weeks, everyone is going to be after him."
