Another solid trip for Wilkins

Manny Wilkins made another unofficial visit to Cal last week for the Washington matchup and the 2014 quarterback had another fun time.
The recruiting process between Wilkins and the Cal coaching staff is still in the preliminary stages but the San Marin (Calif.) Novato standout is optimistic about where it's headed.

Wilkins, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound recruit, was one of the best quarterbacks at the Oakland Elite 11 last spring but still has not landed any offers.
"It was fun at Cal," Wilkins said. "It was a good game. They were going back and forth. The turnover ratio was not really good for either team and they ended up losing the game but it ended up being a pretty good game.
"I talked a little bit with coach (Marcus) Arroyo. That was pretty much it. They've been inviting me to a lot of games so far. I'm not really allowed to go out to a lot because I have a lot of Saturday games but I go out as much as possible."
The Golden Bears have been keeping the lines of communication open with Wilkins, who recently took a visit to San Jose State as well mainly to see Utah State since it is also seriously recruiting him.
Wilkins definitely hopes to hear more from Cal going forward.
"When I go out there it's always a fun thing," Wilkins said.
"They always talk about having a good season, getting them tape and getting good grades. Hopefully over the summer they can elaborate more on that."
More trips are being planned for Wilkins, who could visit Washington this weekend and is really looking forward to an unofficial trip to Oregon next weekend for its matchup against Stanford.
The Ducks remain one of his early favorites.
