Another school creeping in for SMU commit

Lavernia (Texas) wide receiver Corey Fuller has been committed to SMU since late in the summer but it is no secret that the three-star is still shopping around to make sure that his decision is the right one. Recently, Fuller picked up a new offer that may throw a wrinkle into his decision-making process.
"I got a scholarship offer from Vanderbilt," Fuller said. "It's definitely a big impact because Vandy's a really good school and it's in one of the hardest divisions in football with teams like Florida and South Carolina.

Playing wide receiver for his run-heavy offense in high school, the Vanderbilt coaches may have other plans for Fuller.
"They said they wanted me at defense and offense maybe," he said. "But they really just like the way I play."
While Fuller loves the offensive end of the ball, a move to defense wouldn't turn him off.
"I'm pretty favorable towards offense," he said. "But defense isn't out of the question. I like to hit. I'm a pretty good hitter so I do love playing defense on Friday nights."
Despite his SMU commitment, Vanderbilt is clearly a school that holds some interest for the 6-5 receiver. But along with Vanderbilt, TCU is a school that is staying in the hunt.
"I've been considering TCU real hard," he said. "I really do like TCU a lot. I'm liking SMU of course too."
Fuller has managed to make it to TCU and SMU games this fall on unofficial visits. Due to the distance factor, he won't be able to make it to Nashville to see a game this fall but he does anticipate visiting the Commodore campus as one of three official visits.
"I'll probably make my decision after my official visits," he said. "I'll probably just take those three (Vanderbilt, TCU and SMU) because I don't want to waste anybody's money. I'm favoring those three the most."
For now, Fuller is simply focused on getting his team into the playoffs.
"We lost two in a row," he said. "It hurt pretty bad cause we lost back to back but we had a hard practice and now we're ready. We're planning on coming into district real hard."
