Another quarterback for Syracuse

The Syracuse Orange need quality quarterbacks and the coaching staff added yet another top signal-caller to their 2007 class Friday night.
Brooklyn (N.Y.) South Shore quarterback David Legree committed to the Orange over offers from Duke, Rutgers, Temple and serious interest from Purdue.

"Syracuse was the place, every time I visited I didn't want to leave," said the 6-foot-5, 210-pounder. "I felt really good about the school, the coaches and the quarterback situation."
Legree visited Purdue before making his decision, but didn't get the same feeling.
"You could tell they were going to offer, but I really liked Syracuse so much better," he said. "Purdue would not have been a good situation for me, not like the chance at Syracuse."
Legree grew up a Syracuse fan but surprisingly not a Donovan McNabb fan.
"I liked Marvin Harrison and Dwight Freeney and guys like that, I wasn't a big McNabb fan. It's not that I didn't like him, I just liked those other guys because they were just as important" he said. "Syracuse can put players in the NFL and I'll have a good chance to show my skills."
Legree joins Cody Catalina in this class as the two quarterbacks of the future for Syracuse.
"I haven't seen him, but I've heard about him," he said. "I welcome the competition. Competition brings out character and shows who the best person for the job is. I'm more than willing to compete."
Legree threw for 1,638 yards and 17 touchdowns as a junior. He also rushed for 300 yards and three scores.
