Another Palm Bay standout

There must be something in the water down in Palm Bay, Fla., because there are just blue-chip recruits coming out of the woodworks. And with guys like Reggie Nelson and Joe Cohen around, it’s easy to overlook guys like defensive back Ron Ellis – but if you do that, you’d be missing out on a very talented prospect.
Ellis, who is 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, is ranked as the nation’s No. 45 cornerback and a three-star prospect. And he’s got the offers to prove that he’s one of the nation’s best.

He’s set to visit Indiana this weekend, Nebraska on December 13, South Florida on January 10 and Ole Miss on January 17. UCF is likely to get the fifth visit and he has offers from Indiana, Central Florida and South Florida on his top five list.
“I’m just going to take my visits first and see what happens,” Ellis said. “I really don’t have a leader and want to see what these schools are all about.”
And that’s why in-home visits will be key, he said.
UCF is set to come in next week and then the other schools have indicated to him that they’re coming in also soon to either his school or home.
“We’re still playing and have a huge game against Lincoln this weekend,” Ellis said. “That’s kind of been my main focus. I just want to stay focused on that for the team and do what it takes to win.”
