Another Pac-10 offer for 2010 stud

Oakland (Calif.) Bishop O'Dowd outside linebacker Chris Martin has already established himself as one of the top players in the 2010 class. His early offer list already includes teams like Cal, Colorado and Stanford.
Then on Tuesday he added another Pac 10 offer.

"I was informed I've been offered by Oregon," Martin said. "That's a really exciting offer from one of the top teams in the Pac 10."
Posting 108 tackles and five sacks as a sophomore, Martin is more than just a blip on the recruiting radar.
Although Martin makes no issue of playing away from home, his pride in Pac-10 football may keep him on the West Coast.
"A lot of people say it's an underrated conference, and I strongly agree with that," Martin, who is 6-foot-4 and 214 pounds, said. "It's an underrated conference that can hang with anybody.
"I'd love to play in the Pac 10 and show people that we can compete with the SEC, Big Ten, Big 12 and all of those big time schools that people say we're too flashy to play against."
Education is another factor weighing heavily on Martin's opinion of colleges.
"Academic prestige is the first thing I'm looking for in a school," Martin said. "I'm not sure on a major, but I think I'd like to go into marketing."
