Another offer for Texas QB

Another scholarship offer is in for UTEP quarterback commit Tim Curry of Elysian Fields (Texas) High. The 6-foot-4, 191-pounder picked up an offer from a WAC program recently and says he's interested.
"Louisiana Tech just offered me," Curry said. "I had another offer (besides the Miners) from UL-Lafayette, but now I have one from Louisiana Tech. I thought it was real good, the coaches have been telling me that the starting quarterback for their team most likely will come from this class unless someone on campus steps up for them."

Curry has strong ties to the Pelican State and those pique his interest in the Bulldogs.
"I am from Louisiana," he said. "I've got family all over Louisiana and have had family graduate from Louisiana Tech."
Another school in the Deep South also is showing interest in Curry, but has yet to offer.
"I went to Southern Mississsippi's camp," he said. "They don't really recruit my area, so I went to camp and I stayed there with them and got to know them. The offensive coordinator and I sat down and talked and I got to know the head coach. They said they are going to continue to evaluate me and come to some of my games this year. They like what they have seen, but they want to see me more."
One Big 12 program is taking the same approach with Curry.
"They've told me that they've offered three quarterbacks and only one of them has not committed elsewhere, so there is a good chance that I will get offered," he said.
So where does Curry's current commitment to UTEP stand?
"I am still a soft verbal," he said. "I am just going to see what's out there and make a final decision."
Curry is a three-star rated prospect and the nation's No. 22 dual-threat quarterback.
